If you want to go cross-country skiing, you will have to ask yourself one question first: classic or skating? Both techniques have their charm and offer a fantastically even form or movement. Of course there are cross-country skiing trails for both variants in the Ötztal. This is not necessarily exceptional, but the next fact is indeed: In the whole Ötztal you can use the cross-country skiing tracks free of charge!

The network of cross-country skiing trails in the Ötztal covers altogether 143km: perfectly tracked and versatile trails. From leisurely trails in the valley to altitude trails offering perfect training conditions from autumn to spring time. Even in Sölden there are some worthwhile kilometres of cross-country skiing trails.
